The Toronto Semiotic Circle organized a
symposium on "Earth, Fire, Water: Matter and Meaning in Rituals" held at Victoria College
(University of Toronto), Northrop Frye Hall, Room 007, on May 31 – June 1, 2013.
The Toronto Semiotic Circle acknowledges the support of Victoria University, Victoria College’s Principal Office,
St. Michael College’s Principal Office, The University of Toronto’s Department of French Studies,
and the University of Stockholm’s Department of History of Religions.

Andrew Houlson works in the field of environmental engineering. Dr. Houlson has studied environmental issues for 14 years since taking part in a research expedition
to Western Samoa. His passion is communicating the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, a key focus being healthier water for all and the possible benefit of spirituality and science.
